Smartsheet
I led a redesign of Smartsheet's design system docsite, used by engineers, designers, product managers, and content writers. The redesign focused on enhancing information architecture and navigation to make it easier for teams to discover components, documentation, and resources.

TIMELINE
2 Months
The Problem
The existing docsite had become outdated and key resources were buried. There was no clear way for teams to stay informed on updates or where the system was headed.
The Solution
To guide the redesign, we looked at site analytics to understand which pages were being visited most and made sure those were surfaced and easily accessible from the front page. From there, we focused on improving the overall information architecture and navigation to make it easier for teams to discover components, documentation, resources, and more. We also introduced new content sections, including a news page for design system updates and a roadmap to give teams better visibility into what our team was working on and planning. Additionally, we optimized the site for dark mode and designed new illustrative assets with appropriate color tokens to ensure legibility and visual harmony in low-light environments.

Sitemap Planning & Explorations
After analyzing our existing docsite's views & usage patterns, we defined the new information architecture, navigation hierarchy, and key content groupings for improved organization to support clearer discovery.
